A belated Happy New Year to all... 2010 has got to be better then 2009 (one can only hope)... Anyhow, we have all kinds of new things in the works for you, so here goes.
Please welcome Denver's Black Sleep Of Kali and Boston's Cropduster to the Small Stone Roster. The Black Sleep Of Kali bring the rock (for fans of Roadsaw, Iota, Sasquatch, etc.), and Cropduster brings the roll (for fans of Antler, Wilco, Pink Floyd, etc). We will have photos, bios, art, and other stuff up on our website shortly, and both acts will be heading into the studio later this year to record their respected Small Stone debuts. In the meantime, feel free to search the interweb to find out more about 'em.
The "magic hard drive from Philly" has finally arrived at Mad Oak Studios and the Solace "A.D." album is now scheduled to be mixed in early February, so we should be able to get it out to the masses by Spring 2010, just in time for their trek to Europe. In other recording news, the debut from Gozu "Locust Season" is also scheduled to be mixed at the same studio during the same month, and if the rough mixes are any indication, the bar has been raised by Gozu. Red Giant are also scheduled to head into the studio in just a few short weeks, so things are really amping up quickly for the new year.
Mr. Goosman is busy mastering the new albums from Sasquatch and The Brought Low at his Baseline Audio Labs, so those two albums are almost on deck... Look for them both up on iTunes sometime in the next month or two, with proper cd releases to follow shortly thereafter.
We also have four new shirt designs coming your way in the next week... The T-Shirt Guy (a.k.a. Vince) is busy printing them right now at his shop in Roseville, MI, and these include two new Small Stone Logo designs which we are calling the "Orange Amp" shirt (Orange print on Black), and the "Big Muff" shirt (Red Print on a Black Ringer, White Body), a bad ass new Sun Gods In Exile design (4 color print on Black), and a Luder design by Mark Dancey (Black and Blue print on Grey) which would make the Detroit Police Dept proud. It might be cold now, but come Spring, you will look good in them!
Finally, most of our energies are being spent on SXSW at the moment... 2010 looks to be our strongest showcase yet so we hope many of you can make the trip. We have 14 straight hours of music planned for you, all killer, no filler...
