No Year end best of list here, just some positive news from us to you! To start things off, We have just inked deals with both New Jersey's own Solace and the St. Louis based Shame Club (the bastard sons of Jawbox and Aerosmith on drugs). Solace have been busy recording a new album at Mad Oak in Boston this Fall, while the Shame Club just sent us their new self released cd and it so bad ass we will be re-mastering it releasing it as is. Both albums will be coming out sometime in the first half of 2008 as well.
On to some other stuff... Five Horse Johnson, Dozer, Tummler, and Red Giant are all working on material for their respective forthcoming albums. As more info comes in, we will pass it on, but all four bands are scheduled to release new material sometime in 2008. Next, we are still waiting for the ATKOF artwork, but we are still shooting for a March 2008 release. Stu is also making plans for the band to hit the road in early 2008 as well. We are putting the finishing touches on the new Gideon Smith & The Dixie Dammned new album as we speak. Phil Durr and a few others characters will be adding some ear candy at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, MI this week. We had Gid send up some more songs, as the recording did not feel complete after we mixed the initial session that he turned earlier this fall (or was it late Summer, who the hell knows. Anyhow, it should be done shortly and is also on the release schedule for 2008.
Finally, SXSW is coming up quick and we are busy making our plans and what not. The venue this year will be the Room 710, most likely on the Friday of the festival. As for the players, nothing is final but here is a rough list of who might be coming (nothing is confirmed yet): Puny Human, Brain Police, Sasquatch, Dixie Witch, Roadsaw, Iota, Shame Club, A Thousand Knives Of Fire, Mos Generator plus some special guests for our day party including local favorites: Blood Of The Sun, Tia Carrera (of course, we have not asked those two yet, so feel free to spread the word to 'em).
In the meantime, Please have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season... RAWK!
