Small Stone is proud to welcome VALIS to our roster...

Tuesday, December 9, 2003

VALIS is an acronym for Vast Active Living Intelligence System. This band, that wears its life long commitment to heavy rock on its sleeve, hails from the Pacific Northwest and includes members of bands such as Screaming Trees, Kitty Kitty and Ring to name a few. The band has previously released albums with Man's Ruin and Lunasound. Unfortunately for VALIS, (but good for us), both of those companies are no longer in business. The short and sweet of it all is this: the music of VALIS sounds like a stoned out mix of Screaming Trees, Hawkwind, and Sabbath. And that's about as stoned as they come. We will be releasing a new full length from VALIS in 2004 (think Spring!), and the band will be returning to their roots, kicking it in the van old school as they tour globe next year. You will also be able to check them out @ the 2004 SXSW/ Small Stone Showcase (Austin, TX) and the Emissions Festival (Youngstown, OH). Looks like a good year coming up... a very good year!\r\n
